Champ
This year's championship uses a Group Play + Knockout format — a departure from the usual single elimination bracket.
1
8 Groups of 3. Every team is placed in one of 8 groups, balanced by regular season seeding — each group has one top seed, one mid seed, and one lower seed. See the tab for full details.
2
Round Robin Group Play. On Day 1, every team plays both other teams in their group — 2 matches total. Each match is a 3-game series (~1 hour). All matches run across 4 one-hour waves from 6:00–10:00 PM. Every team has one wave off.
3
Group Winners Advance. The team in each group with the best record (most individual games won) advances to Day 2. Ties are broken by the tiebreaker rules below.
4
Day 2: Championship Bracket. The 8 group winners are re-seeded by Day 1 performance and compete in single-elimination quarterfinals, semifinals, and a championship match.
Match Format — Each Match = 3 Games (~1 Hour Total)
Every match is a 3-game series, with each individual game taking approximately 20 minutes. Each team plays 2 matches on Day 1 (6 total games).
Day 1 Player Requirement: Each team must use 4 different players across the 3 games within each match. How you distribute those players is up to you — the only requirement is that 4 unique players appear across the match.

Tiebreaker Rules — Group Play
Teams are ranked within their group by total individual games won (out of 6 across 2 matches). In the event of a tie:
① Head-to-head match result between the tied teams — resolves most 2-team ties
② Number of matches won (full best-of-3 match wins, not individual games) — applies when a 3-way tie cannot be resolved by head-to-head alone
③ Shootout — if a tie still cannot be resolved, a tiebreaker shootout will be held immediately following Wave 4

Day 2 — Championship Bracket
The winner of each group advances. Matchups are determined after Day 1 concludes.
Re-Seeding After Day 1
Unlike a traditional bracket where Day 2 matchups are set in advance, this tournament uses re-seeding after pool play. The 8 group winners are ranked by their Day 1 performance and re-seeded into the quarterfinal bracket — meaning the strongest Day 1 performers earn the most favorable matchups in the knockout round. This keeps competition meaningful through the very last match of pool play.
Re-seeding priority: ① Most individual games won · ② Head-to-head result · ③ Number of matches won

TBD
Day 2 quarterfinal matchups will be announced after Wave 4 on Day 1. The #1 seed will face the #8 seed, #2 vs #7, #3 vs #6, and #4 vs #5.
Day 2 Match Format & Player Requirements
Day 2 matches are best-of-3, but since this is single elimination, the third game is only played if each team wins one of the first two.
Player requirement: 4 different players must compete across the first 2 games of each match. If a third deciding game is required, any eligible players from your roster may compete.
