LEAGUE FAQ

  • Each league night, your team will be playing in a best-of-three series with another team.  That means up to 6 people get a chance to play on any given night (2 people each game).

At least 4 team members must play each week

  • Stop by the host stand and let us know your team has arrived. We’ll let you know what court you’ll be playing on.

  • Grab a substitute! Bring a friend who’s never played and introduce them to shuffleboard! Tell your neighbor there’s a shuffleboard emergency and only they can help! Ask another team if you can borrow a player!

    The possibilities are endless.

Buuut…if you somehow can’t wrangle up 4 players, you forfeit your first game and you’ll only play two games that night. If you win both, you’ll still go 2-1 for the night.

  • If you know one or two of your teammates are running a little late, that’s okay. You can start playing without the entire team present. Just be sure they get here in time so you have at least 4 different players across the 3 games.

  • Alright – you’re checked in, your team has stopped by the bar for the necessary libations and snacks, and you’re down on the court. So now what? Let’s get to it.

You’ll be playing three 8-frame games. For each game, choose 2 players from your team to play. Once a game starts, no switching – those same two players must finish the game.

    Game Format & Shooting Order:

    • The yellow biscuits always start each game on both ends of the court.

    • After that, teams alternate shots.

    • Shooting order for every frame is:
Yellow, Yellow, Black, Black, Yellow, Yellow, Black, Black

Game 1: Flip a coin or play rock-paper-scissors with your opponents. Winner chooses their color (yellow or black).

Game 2: Head to the court and play the opposite color from what your team played in Game 1.
Played yellow? Now you’re black. Note: Biscuits stay on the same side each game – only the people switch sides.

Game 3: Play the opposite color again. If you played black in Game 2, you’ll be yellow in Game 3.

Player Rotation: Across all 3 games, your team must use 4 different players. If someone’s running late, it’s fine to have the same two players in Games 1 and 2 — just make sure two new players play in Game 3.

  • You’ll play two more frames!

Yellow will play first in the first frame. Black will play first in the second frame. Whoever is winning after the 2 frames wins the game!

If you’re still tied, you’ll play two more frames but alternate who goes first (black will play first in the first frame and yellow will play first in the second frame.)

If you’re still tied, you’ll play another two frames…and so on…until you have a winner.

  • Win or lose, don’t forget to report your match result at the front desk!
We track every game to keep the leaderboard up to date, so once your match wraps up, shake hands with your opponents and send someone up front to let us know who won. No need to report the scores – just how many games you won. For example, if you won 2 out of the 3 games, that’s all we need to know!

Win or lose, make your way to the bar for a round of celebratory (or consolation) shots.

  • If you aren't going to make it and are forced to forfeit, try and let us know via email ahead of time.
